Each year, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) honors exceptional individuals in public service roles. These prestigious National Public Servant Citations recognize those who go above and beyond in serving their communities with dedication and distinction.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Citation
Actively provides emergency medical treatment, rescue services, or civil disaster assistance.
Must be a member of a public or volunteer EMT/rescue company.
Law Enforcement Citation
Serves in a municipal, county, state, or federal law enforcement agency.
Private security or company-employed personnel are not eligible.
Firefighter Citation
Actively fights fires and provides emergency assistance.
Must be a member of a public or volunteer firefighting company.
911 Dispatcher Citation
Serves in a government unit (municipal, county, state, federal).
Provides critical communication link between emergency callers and responders.
Candidates must have:
Recognition from colleagues or the community
Demonstrated consistent excellence in job performance
